Girls Cluster Epilepsy is in 2016 voorgesteld als vervanging voor de benaming Epilepsy in Females with Mental Retardation. Deze aandoening is geassocieerd met PCDH19 mutaties. De klinische presentatie is kenmerkend, zoals blijkt uit de cases die hier besproken worden.
